| Brief Description of Services Provided: | The CDC operates and functions as transitional housing for men. It is a place for men to rest, be renewed, and have their hope restored. It is a place where they can to learn to dream again and be reintegrated back into scoeity and their community. We have 115 men in our building and an active waiting list. Referrals come from many different persons, agencies, churches and hospitals. We have two streams for our residents. The "transitional stream" in which the men are employed in the community working in their area of expertise or vocational skill set. The transitional residents pay rent for which they receive safe, clean, shared accommodation and their meals. We also provide an educational stream which is delivered at no cost to the resident and includes accommodation and meals. This straem is program based with a modular delivery system and provides an opporunity for up to 20 men per class. The program has three major focuses: personal life management, career skills and presentation, and personal life development. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with our residents and to see them restored with their families and back into the community as productive and responsible members. |
